“I joined the Learning Analytics program at UW-Madison because of its intentional integration of qualitative and quantitative methods, an approach I believe is missing from most school data systems. I hope to develop the skills to design data tools that help educators balance closing achievement gaps with providing students a rich, broad educational experience.”
EDUCATOR, TECH DIRECTOR, AND LEARNING ADVOCATE
Reegan serves as Director of Technology and Data at a K–8 charter school, where she guides instructional priorities through academic data analysis in support of a predominantly low-income student population. Prior to this role, she spent seven years as a classroom teacher at a private progressive school, designing interdisciplinary, experiential units focused on whole-child development. She was selected to serve two years on the Indiana Department of Education’s Digital Learning Cadre, a selective cohort-based professional development program empowering educators in digital learning. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Science, Technology, and Society from Butler University.
CLOSING ACHIEVEMENT GAPS, OPENING DOORS
Reegan is passionate about transforming how schools use data to serve their most vulnerable students. Having witnessed how one-dimensional data systems can narrow curriculum and widen inequity, she believes that when teachers are equipped with richer, more contextually grounded insights, ones that connect academic performance to students’ lived experiences, they can make more strategic instructional decisions, close achievement gaps more effectively, and create space for the broader, inquiry-driven learning experiences every student deserves.
