Alison Bergin

“I thoroughly enjoyed my time studying in the Learning Analytics online master’s program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This program combined three of my passions: teaching, educational equity, and data-driven decisions. From learning key educational principles to analyzing data in R or Rapid Miner to completing a capstone project, this program allowed me to take a firsthand approach while engaging with the Learning Analytics field.

I am grateful for the hard work our teaching team put into designing our courses. Despite the online, asynchronous structure of this program, I made numerous connections with both fellow students and instructors.”

REVENUE ALL-STAR

Alison works as a corporate trainer at Epic Systems. In her work, she trains healthcare professionals from around the world to use the Epic software for their daily workflows. Alison specializes in the insurance industry and instructs organizations how to configure their instance of the software to meet their business needs. In addition to training, Alison also owns the instructional design for the courses she teaches. This includes writing training manuals, designing assessments, and crafting presentations.

Alison is also enthusiastic about furthering her own education. She is certified in over 30 Epic applications, earning her multiple “All-Star” statuses which indicate that Alison is certified in every application related to a specific area of the software.

CREATING MATERIALS THAT ARE EASY AND ENJOYABLE TO USE

Alison is passionate about creating class materials that are easy for both the trainer and trainee to use. She achieves this through leveraging her presentation design and data analysis skills. Using both quantitative and qualitative data from post-class evaluations, Alison identifies areas for improvement in her classes and strives to continuously improve everything she touches.
