Xuesong Cang (She/Her) is a current PhD student in the Learning Science area of the Department of Educational Psychology being mentored by Dr. Sadhana Puntambekar. Her research focuses on science learning in K12 education with the support of distributed technologies in the classroom, particularly in computer-supported collaborative learning. Xuesong’s research is grounded in sociocultural learning theories (e.g., distributed cognition, situated cognition, discourse, etc.). She worked on the teaching team of 301 How People Learn in the academic year of 2020-2021 and will be a lecturer for the academic year 2024-2025. She enjoys mentoring students and learning from them as well. Outside of work and research, Xuesong spends time exercising, incremental clicking games, trying local food, and traveling!
