“I sought a program that merges my passion for teaching with my interest in data. As a full-time professional in Nova Scotia, the flexibility of an asynchronous, online format is essential. Learning Analytics are pivotal in education, and I am eager to use this knowledge to enhance my students’ learning experiences.”

TEACHING AND ADVOCACY, GROUNDED IN EXPERIENCE

As a Learning Disability Specialist Teacher at her current center for education, Christina collaborates with teachers to develop intervention plans tailored for students. With 15 years of experience in various schools within the TCRCE, she has honed her expertise in educational support and moving students forward. Additionally, she teaches part-time at Université Sainte-Anne. Recently, she graduated from Saint Francis Xavier University with a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, focusing on inclusion. She also holds a Magistrate in Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

VALUES IN AND BEYOND THE CLASSROOM

Christina believes that Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) can be effective if properly implemented, which involves analyzing evidence of student learning and developing plans for improvement. Setting high standards for herself, she aims to inspire students by example. She balances a rigorous work ethic with personal pursuits, holding a second-degree black belt in Taekwon-Do and preparing for her third-degree test. In addition to her professional reading, she enjoys reading for pleasure. Christina spends her free time with her family, which includes a flock of chickens.
