“I am passionate about improving educational systems and how music can play a part in this. I joined the Learning Analytics program so I can better understand how to analyze data and present solutions for educational gaps utilizing music-based interventions.”

MUSIC THERAPIST

Mackenzie currently works as a Music Therapist on the Children’s Long-Term Support waiver program. She serves clients from birth to 18 with intellectual and developmental disabilities displaying significant need and coming from under-resourced families. She provides music-based intervention with a focus in improvisation of musical elements to evoke specific brain responses. Mackenzie holds her Board Certification of Music Therapy as well as her Wisconsin Music Therapy Registration. Mackenzie earned her BM in Music Therapy from the University of Louisville where she graduated summa cum laude.

HOLISTIC CHILD DEVELOPMENT

In her current role, Mackenzie uses music-based interventions to target sensory integration, developmental support and early intervention. Mackenzie is passionate about holistic support for child development to improve academic achievement. She seeks to support clients through music to build skills necessary for success at school. Mackenzie is driven to provide individualized treatment plans, supporting clients in as many areas as possible to increase success in the academic and home environments. In addition to direct contact with clients, she works with families and teachers to build music-based intervention plans to support the child outside of the music therapy setting.
