“This program embodies my belief that every student who steps foot in a classroom has capabilities and potential for achievement, as long as they have support, strategies, and innovative educators guiding them. The ability to collect data in a variety of ways, interpret and disseminate it to a wide range of stakeholders, and design and implement policy that addresses whatever shortcomings that data may reveal – these are some of the abilities I hope to take away from this program.”
MATH AND U.S. HISTORY TEACHER

He has also served as the Assistant Athletic Director, Assistant Boys’ Basketball Coach, and the ASL Club sponsor. He has worked on the Faculty Advisory Committee and the School of Character Committee. Sean earned his Bachelor’s degree in History at Michigan State University, through their Honor’s College, where he minored in Mathematics and graduated with honors.
USING DATA TO DRIVE DECISIONS
Sean is passionate about the importance of using data to improve outcomes for all students. He is driven by the desire to find evidence-based educational practices that will improve outcomes for all students. To this end, he served three years on the data analysis team at his former school to use assessment results to identify areas of mathematical strengths and weaknesses in the student body. Sean would help to communicate these areas to other stakeholders and then collaborate with them to formulate an action plan to address them. Additionally, Sean has served as a summer school teacher to work with students who needed extra support and offered free before and after school tutoring to students.
