“I believe that Learning Analytics can shape our education system for the better and I want to be a part of that change. I am excited to work alongside other students interested in education data and its applications.”
Educator
Maeghan is currently a teacher at Raleigh Oak Charter School. She has completed intensive training to create a curriculum that fuses Public Waldorf Core Principles with North Carolina State Standards. She has looped with her class from Kindergarten through Second Grade and will continue with them to Third Grade. Maeghan attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate studies and earned a BA in Sociology. Afterwards, she taught English as a Second Language to children and adults in China for seven years, earning a CELTA along the way.
Led by Curiosity, Driven by Research
Maeghan enjoys harnessing data to impact the students she teaches. She is constantly questioning how things could be made better and looking for research to answer those questions. She has learned different styles of education by working at public, charter, magnet, Title I, Montessori, and Waldorf-inspired schools. She believes that helping students develop an intrinsic desire to learn is the most important job of an educator.
