Nancy Bowen has experienced multiple facets of thinking and learning throughout a varied life and career. She is currently the inventor and developer of a family support network known as learningflow. She is also working toward a doctorate in exceptional learners with an emphasis on advanced learners’ social and emotional needs. Most recently, Nancy has been working to bring greater equity and inclusion to advanced programming in the Appleton Area School District and has led innovative growth in the talented and gifted department. She also chartered a parent organization focused on the social and emotional learning and mental health of district TAG families. Prior to this, Nancy worked as an English learner case manager in the MATSU District of Palmer, Alaska, an adjunct reading instructor at Nicolet Technical College in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, and a University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point English for College instructor. Nancy most often finds herself surrounded by work that needs both inventing and executing in synchrony. She is passionate about learning and growing as a human and empowering others to do so as well. Nancy spent the year 2020 living in the renovated one room school her father and grandfather attended as children in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. She is a first-generation high school and college graduate.
