Britta Hesselberg
Position title: Madison West High School
Address:
Madison, WI

Britta’s passion for social justice, disability advocacy, and public education led her to the Learning Analytics program at UW-Madison. She recently graduated from UW-Madison with a B.S. in Special Education. During her four years at the UW, Britta became heavily involved with disability social justice and public education. She worked with Special Olympics Wisconsin, where she worked alongside individuals with disabilities to promote inclusion and fight ableism through unified sports, public speaking workshops, and special events marketing. She also completed a number of activities in an education setting, such as working in Educational Psychology research, completing practicum and student teaching in the Madison Public Schools, and leading student inclusion groups. With this acquired knowledge and newfound passion, Britta has moved on to work at Madison West High School as a Special Education teacher, where she case manages 15 students with IEPs, teaches Biology and Math, and leads her own inclusion social justice group. She is excited to begin the Learning Analytics program so that she can actively apply new skills and strategies in her teaching and prepare herself for her professional goal in obtaining a PhD.
