Position title: University of Wisconsin-Madison
Andrew W Mueller has been a technical writer and IT Support technician for Learn@UW-Madison (within DoIT Academic Technology at UW-Madison) since January of 2020. His team is responsible for maintaining the Learn@UW-Madison suite, which contains learning management, assessment, media delivery, collaboration, and content authoring tools. As part of his technical writing duties, Andrew administers Learn@UW’s Knowledgebase documentation site. Previously, he worked for the DoIT Tech Store and Level 2 Help Desk on UW-Madison’s campus. In 2017, Andrew graduated from University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in English and Certificate in digital studies; participating in Trinity College Dublin’s exchange program in 2016.
Andrew’s interest in Learning Analytics stems from both his current career, and early exposure to educational video games as a child. He believes learning analytics can prove the effectiveness of atypical education methods (such as video games) to reach students who struggle with standard assignments in both remote and in-person instruction. Andrew hopes this degree will grant him expertise in Learning Analytics to inform colleagues in both his current role and future career opportunities in educational technology.
