Instructional Designer Maria Widmer

Maria Widmer is an Instructional Designer for the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Education, where she leads support for the design, development, and facilitation of online courses. She has worked in distance education for over 10 years as an instructor and designer. Maria is also a PhD student in Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis at UW-Madison. Her research focuses on the intersections of equity, data, and innovation in higher education. She received a M.Ed. in Learning, Design, and Technology from Penn State University. There, she collaboratively designed and developed a data visualization interface for game-based progress monitoring apps for learners who are deaf and hard-of-hearing.
